Генна терапія неминуча, але чи встигнемо ми?

Abstract

Висувається і обґрунтовується положення, згідно якому прийнята та єдино можлива модель людської цивілізації на найближче майбутнє, що передбачає стабілізацію чисельності населення з мінімальною народжуваністю, є несумісною з біологією людини в плані його генетичного апарату і неминуче повинна призвести до генетичного виродження. З урахуванням мутагенного тиску навколишнього середовища та практичної стабілізації чисельності населення в розвинутих країнах до генетичного виродження підійшли впритул чи, можливо, в деяких регіонах воно вже відбувається. Оскільки пошкодження геному, які вже відбулися, потенційно може виправити лише генна терапія, її самий широкий розвиток неминучий, якщо такий розвиток встигнуть здійснити.
