Abstract

Огляд присвячено проблемі мінливості вірусу імунодефіциту людини (ВІЛ) та її епідеміологічному значенню. ВІЛ характеризується дуже високим рівнем мінливості. Мутаційна мінливість у самому лише гені env ВІ Л-1 десятиразово перевищує частоту мутацій, характерну для збудників грипу, який до останнього часу вважався наймінливіиїим. Знання з цієї проблеми допоможуть у подальшій роботі, пов'язаній з епідеміологічним контролем ВІЛ-інфекції і направленій на створен­ня лікувальних і профілактичних вакцин та надійних діагностичних тест-систем, а також для підбору стратегії боротьби зі СНІ Дом.
