Abstract

У роботі досліджено експресію секреторних муцинів (MUC 2–9) у кон'юнктиві ока людини. Застосовуючи метод гібридизації in situ із специфічними олігонуклеотидними пробами, було виявлено експресію лише двох секреторних муцинів (MUC4 і MUC5AC) в епітеліальному шарі кон'юнктиви. Експресію MUC4 транскрипційної РНК, яка мала гомогенний характер розподілу, було виявлено в усіх шарах сквамозного епітелію. На відміну від MUC4, MVC5AC експресується тільки в базальному шарі кон'юнктиви і мас плямистий характер експресії. Базуючись на даних з вивчення функції секреторних муцинів в інших тканинах, можна припустити, що MUC4 і MUC5AC відіграють важливу роль у формуванні і стабілізації мукози, яка харчує, зволожує і захищає епітеліальні клітини кон'юнктиви від патогенних факторів і шкідливих впливів зовнішнього середовища.
