Abstract

The polyhedrin of the M. neustria nuclear polyhedrosis virus (NPV) was reduced and carboxymethylated and subjected to tryptic digestion was separated by gel filtration and paper high-voltage electrophoresis and chromatography. 48 peptides were isolated and the structure or amino acid composition of them was determined. 30 peptides have non-overlapping sequences comparising 246 amino acid residues. The peculiarities of the interaction of the M. neustria NPV polyhedral protease with the polyhedrin of that are discussed.
