Method for rapid transformation of enterobacteria and some factors influencing its efficiency

Abstract
Standard and simplified modifications of freese-thaw method for enterobacteria transformation are described. First enables one to transform E. coli JM109 and K. oxytoca VN13 within 1 hour with an efficiency of about 2.5·105 transformants per microgram of plasmid pUC4k DNA. Simplified modification gives an efficiency of 1·104 transformants per microgram of pUC4k DNA within 5 min. Both modifications were successfully applied for the transformation of Enterobacter cloaceae JMV8351.
