Abstract
Cytogenetic analysis of cultured Nicotiana tabacum and Papaver bacterium cells resistant to paro-fluorophenylalanine (pFPA) has been provided. pFPA retarded polyploidy process and enhanced proliferative activity of cells with low ploidy, and stimulated morphogenesis in both species calluses. Low frequency of chromosome aberrations in tobaco tissue culture resistant to pFPA has been demonstrated. Regenerated from resistant tobacco callus plants characterized with mixoploidy status.
