Abstract

The chloroplast thylakoid polypeptides of the intertribal cybrides Nicotiana tabacum+Scopolia carnlolica, N. tabacum+Physochlaine officinalis . V. tabacum+Lycium barbarum were studied by PAGE. The alteration of the protein composition of the light-harvesting complex of PS II was found in all combinations which results in the appearance of four extra polypeptides. It was concluded that this phenomena is due to discoordination between nuclear and plastide genomes during chloropiast biogenesis.
