Influence of phospholipids on bromthymol blue binding to methemoglobin

Abstract

The binding of bromthymol blue to methemoglobin during protein-lipid complex formation has been investigated. The methemoglobin interaction with liposomes consisting of phosphatidylcholine and cardiolipin mixture is shown to be followed by considerable changes of the protein conformation.
