Main trends and principal achievements of genetics and selective breeding in the institutions of NAS of Ukraine beginning from the classic genetics revival in USSR in 60th years of the XX century are presented. Scientific and organizational activity of some institutions and leading geneticists and selectionists of Ukraine and their contribution to the world science progress in the second half of the XX century are analyzed.
