Abstract

The influence of divalent cations physiologically important for contraction, ionic strength and pH of medium on the cardiac muscle myosin ATPase activity has been investigated. The results obtained have been compared with those for myosin of other muscle types such as skeletal and smooth. The dependence of physiological properties of different muscle types on physical, chemical and structural peculiarities of myosin is discussed.
