Abstract

The amino acid sequence of 32 tryptic peptides of S. lunigera NPV polyhedrin was determined. The complete polypeptide chain of S. lunigera polyhedrin was reconstructed from peptides by means of their comparison with amino acid sequences of polyhedrins of Mamestra brassicae, Malacosoma neustria, Galleria mellonella, Bombyx mori, Agrotis segetum and Porthetria dispar NPVs. The S. lunigera NPV polyhedrin contains 246 amino acid residues.
