Abstract

The type I DNA-topoisomerase has been isolated and purified by procedures of salting out and ion chromatography from maize seedling mitochondria. It has been found that the enzyme examined possesses properties characteristic of DNA-topoisomerases of both eukaryotic and prokaryotic origin.
