Abstract

In the previous study the human gene encoding erythropoietin, the principal factor of erythroid cells differentiation, has been isolated from human genomic phage library. In this paper the plasmid pSVEpo containing erythropoietin gene under the control of promoter of early SV40 genes is obtained. The biologically active erythropoietin has been detected in conditioned media from CHOtk- cells transfected with pSVEpo plasmid. The plasmid pSVEpo may be used in somatic gene therapy experiments.
