Abstract

The human arantitrypsin gene has been cloned. A cDNA molecule, containing almost the whole coding sequence is isolated. Nucleotide sequence is determined for the regulatory region of α1AT gene, responsible for its expression in the liver. The possibility to use cloned genes for the gene therapy of some diseases is discussed.
