80S ribosomes stimulate activity of homologous leucyl-tRNA synthetase on the first stage of tRNA aminoacylation, namely for formation enzyme bound aminoacyl-adenylate. A possible mechanism and functional significance of the interaction between eukaryotic leucyl-tRNA synthetase and ribosomes are discussed.
