Abstract

The polymorphism ofsomatotropin locus with use of PCR in same Ukrainian cattle breeds was investigated. The breed-specific patterns of distribution of C and D allelic variants of somatotropin locus were observed. The level of heterozygosity of somatotropin locus was more high in local breeds (Brown Carpathian, Ukrainian Grey), than in wide used Slack and White Holstein.
