Synthesis of 2', 3'-didehydro-2', 3'-dideoxyuridine with following addition of triphenylphosphonium iodides

Interaction between 5'-O-benzoyl-O2,2'-cyclouridineandiodtriphenylpliosphoniuin iodide with following addition of imidazoles led to 2',3'-didehydro-2',3'-dideoxynudeoside. 2'-Iod-2'- and 2',3'-diiod-2',3'-dideoxynucleosides were show to be formed as intermediate products.References
