Abstract

Uridine-diphosphate-N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanyl-D-glutamate: meso-2, 6-diaminopimelate ligase activity was found in extracts of B. subtilis, S. bovis, E. faecium. UDP-N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanyl-D-glutamate: meso-2, 6-diaminopimelate ligase from B. subtilis was purified by gel-filtration and ion-exchange chromatography. The molecular weight of enzyme as determined by gel-filtration is 120000.
