Abstract

The current data on cloning of mammals are analysed in the review. Recent problems determined by the main achievements and restrictions in mammalian cloning are also considered. Among these the source of donor nuclei, optimal stages of cell cycle for replaced nuclei, techniques for their transplantation, and efficiency of pre- and postimplantation development of clones, as well as defects and relationship with imprinting modification, are discussed.
