Abstract

The inhibition of protein kinase C activity in TPA stimulated Jurkat cells (human T-lymphoblast leukemia) was detected while addition of 5 · 106–5 ·107 M of melittin. The method oftrypsinolysis was used to obtain of melittin fragment M7–19 that was also used as inhibitors of activated protein kinase C in T-lymphocytes. Fragment M7–19 inhibited PKC at the same level as native melittin. At the same time M7–19 fragment caused the less level of erythrocytes lysis, so it may be used as more effective inhibitor of PKC
