Negative ions formation of the cytosine molecule by electron impact

The absolute cross sections for negative ions formations of the nucleic acid base ─ cytosine were found first using the modern technic of normally crossed molecular and electron beams. The ionization cross section had maximum at 1.45 eV of the electron energy and was 4.2×10-18 cm2. Biophysical consequences of the obtained results are discussing.
