Investigation of the Some Physicochemical Properties of the Pyrausia sticticalis Nuclear Polyhedrosis Virus (NPV) Polyhedrin
Summary
Dodecylsulphate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE) has shown that polyhedra of the P. sticticalis NPV consist of the protein with molecular weight of 30000. Polyhedrin has amino terminal acylmethionine residue and tyrosine residue as carboxyl terminal group. Amino acid composition is determined and fingerprint is compiled for the protein. Polyhedra contain the alkaline protease as shown by the SDS-PAGE. It is shown that polyhedra contain RNA.
