Protein Biosynthesis in Cell-Free Systems From Pig Myocardium Under Anoxia
Summary
Influence of anoxia on protein biosynthesis in cell-free system from pig myocardium was studied. The rate and level of [14C]-leucine incorporation into translational product were lower in cell-free system obtained from pig myocardium after anoxia than in system from control myocardium. Fluorography of electrophoregram of radioactive proteins synthesized in cell-free system has revealed a sharp decrease in the level of radioactive amino acids incorporation into total translational product 90 min after anoxia. The spectrum of proteins synthesized under these conditions did not change. The decrease in protein biosynthesis 20 min after anoxia is shown to depend on the alterations in cytosol, whereas 90 min after anoxia this phenomenon is related also to the changes in the ribosomal fraction.
