Low-Frequency Raman Spectra of Some Methylated Components of Nucleic Acisds: 1-Methyl Derivatives of Pyrimidine Bases
Summary
Low-frequency (10-15 cm-1 v<200 cm-1) Raman spectra of polycrystalline 1-methyl-cytosine, 1-methyluracil and 1-methylthymine at 300 K have been investigated in detale. The lattice vibrational modes and intramolecular out-of-plane vibrations have been identified. It has been discussed, how the low frequency Raman spectra of nucleic acid bases are affected by their methylation at the point of glycoside linkage.
