PROTEIN AND PEPTIDE FUNCTIONALY IMPORTANT REGIONS SEARCH METHOD BY AMINOACID SEQUENCE
Summary
An empirical method for predicting functionally important regions in protein and peptide sequences is suggested. It concerns only linear or continues regions (those consisting of residues closely placed in the sequence). The method is based on an already obtained correlation between continuous protein regions known to be functionally important and corresponding resemblance profile low values. The method allows predicting correctly more than a half of the known continuous functional centers for the large protein set.
