Summary

    Fusion of 5'-terminal fragments of E. coll rpll and rpIL genes to LacZ, has permitted showing that expression of hybrid rplJ'-lacZ and rplL'-lacZ decreases as a result of ap¬pearance of rare GGG and CCC codons in the vicinity of the initiator AUG codon.
