PULSED FIELD GRADIENT ELECTROPHORESIS STUDY OF pYF91 PLASMID INTEGRATION INTO YEAST CHROMOSOMES
Summary
An electrophoretic karyotyping of yeast strains with the integrated plasmid was performed. The collection used was comprised of strains with plasmid pYFSl integrated in several chromosomes, namely I, III, VI, IX, XI, respectively. Some bands positions for integrants were clearly different from those of the recipient strain. In each case only the chimaeric chromosome position changed. Thus, it is shown possible to identify chimaeric chromosomes by the technique of pulsed field gradient gel electrophoresis.
