STUDIES IN REPLICATION OF PLASMIDS CONTAINING A COMPLETE SV40 GENOME IN PERMISSIVE MAMMALIAN CELLS
Summary
After simultaneous infection of permissive cells with SV40 and transfection with plasmids containing the SV40 genome and "poison sequences", replication of plasmids reaches the maximum level (106 copies per infected cell). When the plasmids are transfected 24 h after post-infection of cells with SV40, the replication level decreases several times and approximately corresponds to the level of their replication in COS cells.
